About.
Johnnie Clinton (they/he) is a poet, essayist, and storyteller. Raised by editors and educators, words hold a sacred place in their heart. They liken them to magic, with the power to ensnare the senses, transform the mind, and animate the spirit.
They penned their first poem at 6-years old, and has since amassed a catalogue of thousands, most scattered across the internet, a lucky few scribbled on the back of cocktail napkins. Stories are how they make sense of the world. Like atoms, stories are the building blocks of our reality. They make us who we are and connect us to those we aren't.
In their free time, they are an avid Trekkie, Tarot reader, and treasure trove of useless pop culture tidbits. They are captivated by the ordinary and the fantastic. Most importantly, they understand that buying books and reading them are two completely different hobbies.
They have a Bachelor’s of Fine Art in Animation from Savannah College of Art and Design, and are on the verge of completing their Bachelor’s in Writing and Communication from American Public University.
They live in rural New Jersey with their husband and a menagerie of four-legged children.
